Blogs & Coffee

My favorite part of the day is in the early morning: I sit on my couch with a newly brewed cup of coffee and open my computer up to peruse blog updates from dear friends I have subscribed to. I saw this poster on Naturally Nina–a new blog I’m quickly falling in love with. It’s so adorable and so true.

Thanks to all the blogs that make my day happier!

I’ve Been Awarded!

I feel so special! On Tuesday I was given the “Love Ya” award from the very classy blogger, Chelsea Bea at Pencil Skirts & Pearls! What kind and sweet words she wrote about me. I love reading her blog because all of her posts revolve around living life in a timeless and lovely way.  In reading other bloggy friends, I noticed I was awarded also by Crystal at Brunette on a Budget! Now there’s one fantastic writer. I love her wit, honesty, and admire her courage for following her dreams.

Award Details:

Apparently this award is bestowed on to blogs that are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I’ll pass the award to these fabulous 8 bloggers (in no particular order). I love reading each post from these talented ladies, but also feel like they have become my friends. “Love Ya!”

April Debt Paid:
I pay $500 to the parents loan today. Yessssssss! I’ve adjusted the progress bars to reflect the changes. I have $7450 left to pay, which sounds pretty awesome considering this time last month I had $9220 left. With no other adjustments or changes, at $500 per month, I can have this paid off in 15 months–July 2010. Sounds like a long time, but as long as the number continues to decrease, it’s all good. Plus, that is not counting any extra income, cash gifts or future tax refunds I may get between now and then.

This Weekend:
This weekend will be pretty hectic. I am heading to North Carolina for two showers for my BFF: one that is hosted at my parents’ home, and one that I am co-hosting at a restaurant. I haven’t seen my mom since we found out she has cancer, so it will be great spending some time with her. The one I am hosting is with my sister and we have a pre-set brunch menu for all the guests. Initially it was suppose to be an intimate number of nine girls, but it has grown to fourteen guests at $10 per person plus tip. Gah! Oh well, it’s all in the name of love, right?

    Projected Budget:
Dining: $15 – for on the road and possible Saturday night dinner
Shower Cost: $100 – for half of the meal and flowers
    Gas: $60 – driving a lot a lot a lot

Gotta love it when the paycheck is almost completed depleted in the first week. ;) Have a great weekend y’all!
